Mounting 288 driver to multi-cell horns

Finally got a reasonably priced pair of 1003's. Are there any special procedures or watch-outs when mounting large format drivers to the multicell horns? Should a rubber gasket be used, or is silicone acceptable? How critical is it to trim the sealing material so it doesn't restrict or extend into the opening? And lastly are there any best methods of supporting the complete assembly, as the adapters do not look all that strong, and you have a heavy part at each end of a long, somewhat fragile assembly? Any help would be really appreciated as I don't want to end up breaking hard to come by parts. Thanks.

I use that thin rolled up gasket cork and cut my own gaskets.
JBL used cork type gaskets and W.E. used treated thick-paper type gaskets.

You can buy a roll of gasket cork from Auto Parts Stores.

Mouth dimensions: ear to ear front - 36"
each cell is approx. 8 3/8"" square
I was contemplating making a bracket which would use two of the driver studs to support the rear weight. Both cast Al. throat adapters have one of the pair of mounting ears broken off.
Making gaskets will be pretty simple, just wasn't sure the best way to go - thanks much. Can't wait to see how they sound.

My 1005's on a factory sled support each lower corner on the front and the boss on the throat adapter. Does not seem to be a problem.

Hi Dave,

I saw a photo before, a 1505b horn have three mounting brackets, one on the throat, two on the front or mouth.
On the other hand, can you tell me the size of the 1003b horn's cell mouth? It seems very large and i guess it is around 9 inch x 9 inch.
